Product Description

Spotted Wintergreen has many different medicinal purposes.

You may have missed it or seen it before in your travels but had no idea this is a multifunctional plant. It is described as a small plant that loves to go under shrubs or even hide under logs. It has existed for a long time. The leaves of the Spotted Wintergreen Plant are light and dark green, with a thin white stripe going through the middle of the leaves. It blooms in mid to late summer, producing light pale flowers with a hint of grey that grows upside down. Those who have seen it describes it as tiny umbrellas.

This plant goes by the name Spotted Pipssewa, Striped Wintergreen, and a whole list of other names. It is grown in North America(Quebec), in the West (Illinois), South America(Florida and Panama). This plant is very selective in where it grows.

Spotted Wintergreen is an antibacterial(resisting the spread of bacteria), diuretic(helps with the production of urine output), analgesic(used for pain). It also reduces fever in the sick. Increases blood flow and induces perspiration. It continues to amaze by minimizing bleeding in minor cuts. In Mexico, this plant is added in the making of Tesquino(a rum made from sprouted maize).

Spotted Wintergreen grows in the wild underneath trees and shrubs.

Spotted Wintergreen, when made into tea, helps those who suffer from Rheumatism and colds. The root of this plant can also be ground and made into a poultice or wash for those who are suffering from cancers, inflamed lymph nodes, and ulcers when placed on the affected area.

When the leaves are nibbled on, some people say they like the crisp, refreshing taste; it makes their body feel great. Just a note, all parts of the Spotted Winter Green are used; nothing should be wasted.

The next time you are out gardening or in the woods, look under shrubs; you may say hello to a Spotted Winter Green Plant.

 Happy hunting!
