Product Description

Geranium is a Traditional, Low-Maintenance Plant

Geranium is a traditional plant used in gardens, and gardeners have used them for more than 100 years. Geraniums are used in containers, beds, and borders. Traditionally, geranium bedding prefers hot temperatures and performs well in dry conditions. The geranium plant usually has colorful flowers and foliage. Regal geraniums, also referred to as Martha Washington geraniums, can thrive in colder conditions, like those found in the springtime or fall. Most of the time, geraniums are annuals, but they’re perennials in zones 10 and 11.

Geranium is Used in Gardens, Containers, Flower Beds, and Borders

During the winter, they can be brought inside and then planted once again outside during the spring. They may also grow and bloom year-long inside, so long as they have enough sunlight. Geraniums grow from six inches to three feet, and they can grow to be two feet wide. Their flower colors include white, purple, pink, red, and orange. These low-maintenance plants are deer-resistant, tolerant of droughts, and excellent for container planting.

The most common and recognizable type is the Zonal, which has a thick band of dark color on the leaves, and this band can be very pronounced in some plants. Sometimes Zonal geraniums don’t have this band of color. These geraniums can only grow from cuttings, and they’re often more significant and last longer than other types of geraniums. So long as you continue to remove the old, withered blooms, these geraniums will do well in the summertime sun and heat, and they can bloom throughout the season. If you prefer Regal geraniums, which thrive in colder weather, it’s essential to make sure the soil is draining well. During hot and humid temperatures, it’s best to keep them fresh, maybe by bringing them inside until the temperature drops outdoors.

If you need a splash of color anywhere in the garden, they will fit in beautifully. You can grow Geranium from seeds, cuttings, or already potted. As seedlings, they will take approximately 12 to 16 weeks to flower. Gardeners and landscapers love the Geranium for many good reasons! They’re hardy by all standards. The hardiness zone is 9 to 12, and in some cases, as low as 7. It’s best to plant them in the sun and early in the day. Amply water the soil so it remains wet as you plant. Set them approximately 6 to 12 inches apart.

Water your geraniums often. Best not to overwater, and be sure to drain your potted plants of any excess water. They don’t need much more care than that. Just relax and enjoy! Your geraniums will bloom happily for the entire season! Depending upon the variety of Geranium, the flower will grow anywhere from 6 inches to 12 inches or more in height. Your home will come to life with the addition of your lush, colorful geraniums; Their warm colors will enhance the decor of any room in your house! Geraniums love the outdoors, and the curb appeal of your home astound! Plant them as flower beds. They look beautiful alone and blend perfectly with other annuals. Geraniums make an intelligent choice for border trim because they are so striking! Be sure to plant some geraniums in your window boxes, too. Hanging planters of geraniums will make a beautiful statement on the porch, the patio, and the deck!
