Product Description

Potato Dandelion

Potato dandelion is a wildflower that grows in various types of soil. They have stunning bright yellowish-orange flowers when in bloom. The flowers grow many short, medium and large pedals that make up the ray florets with the outer petals being the largest. They grow as a single flower on a leafless stem, and have basal leaves at the base, similar to common dandelions. Potato dandelions are known as Krigia dandelion (L) Nutt., and are a perennial herb. Potato dandelions are also a member of the sunflower (asteraceae) family. These wildflowers produce a milky sap filled with antioxidants, minerals, proteins and vitamins used for skin disease treatment, bone health and hair care, among other daily ailments.

The Potato Dandelion is a perennial wildflower that is native to the southeastern and southcentral portions of the United States. They are also related to the Sunflower. These plants will bloom in summer months with one large bloom per stem. The blooms are a brilliant yellow in color, and the foliage is a medium green. These plants are commonly called Dwarf Dandelion or Wild Dandelion. They are easy to grow and love full sun to full shade. They are very adaptable to many different types of soils with good drainage.
