How We Protect Your Plants For Transit

We sell only bare root plants. For superior protection for plants in transit, we dip the roots in tera-sorb silicone gel to retain ample moisture for transit and surround with plastic.

Upon Receipt Of Your Plants

Open your plants, and inspect the same day received. You need to report any problems with your order within 3 days. Plant promptly - bare root plants need to be planted within 2-3 days unless there are weather issues. Keep roots moist and covered with plastic until they can be planted, and store in a cool place. Water daily for the first week after planting.

Pink Weigelia is a Low Maintenance Shrub that Thrives in Full Sun

Pink Weigela Shrub - Weigela florida. Pink weigela gets its name from the full pink blossoms that cover the shrub during springtime and continue to sprout sporadically until frost. These flowers have five lobes, and they range from medium to hot pink in the shade. They have a mounded appearance with variegated green leaves. When mature, the shrub usually is about 5 feet tall, but it can reach up to 10 feet in height and diameter. It is a very low maintenance shrub that does best in full sun but will tolerate moderate shade. Pink weigela is very attractive to hummingbirds and butterflies.

This type of shrub can adjust to a wide range of soil conditions. You can plant this bush in groups, or by itself. It will do well in any garden, or as a border. The Pink Weigela is also known as the Weeping Weigela. It has abundant trumpet-shaped flowers on its naturally arching branches, with colors varying from pastel pink to deep rose. It tends to bloom in late spring or early summer. This perennial shrub is one of the most natural plants to care for and will flower for many years with only a little attention. It can withstand a variety of conditions. Pruning should be done in mid- to late summer after flowering is done and the blooms begin to fade, and should primarily be to remove old or dying branches to make room for new growth. It is lovely to butterflies and hummingbirds.

The shrub acts as a border along the edges of flower beds, near walkways and against structures. Its flowers grow in clusters on spray-like branches. The plant's blooms are vibrant shades of rosy pink that add color and interest to any garden. The blossoms are plentiful during the spring season and flower more sporadically during the summer months. The shrub grows well in the shade, but the blooms thrive in abundant sunshine and stay pretty longer. During the peak flowering season, the plant can have so many blossoms it is impossible to see the foliage underneath.

Pink Weigela is one of the most stunning ornamental bushes when in full bloom. They all shoot out large clusters of pink flowers that can make a remarkable feature or hedge element in any landscaping project. Your specific growth needs will depend on the particular cultivar you choose. More abundant varietals will require more room to grow when you place them, as some can spread up to ten feet if left to grow. That new growth is where a lot of blossoms will happen, so pruning and feeding before the bush greens in spring is key to getting the most out of it's spectacular there are no significant insect or disease issues with Weigela, another reason it is easy to maintain. It is also known to attract hummingbirds. The wide varieties and versatility of this particular bush make it extremely useful in many aspects of landscaping and horticulture.
