Forsythia Shrubs are one of the first flowers hearty enough to bloom very early in the spring. They have been known to have a bloom or two when there was still snow and frost on the ground. These make wonderful ornamental plants and are spectacular when planted in groups or used as a border. In spring, they will bloom with lovely little bright yellow flowers up and down the stems of the shrub. These will give way to the dark green foliage that will show in the summer through early fall. These are deciduous plants and do lose their leaves in winter.
