Tree of Heaven – Ailanthus altissima. The Tree of Heaven is of the Simaroubaceae family, and it is a perennial tree that grows to 55 feet at mature height. This tree produces yellow fruit with coarse green leaves. It is a rapid-growing tree that adapts well to textured soils and is reasonably durable with its medium drought tolerance. It is native to China, and Europe and its leaves are still often used in traditional Chinese medicine as an antiseptic.
