Lynwood Gold Forsythia - Oleceae

The Lynwood Gold Forsythia is a brilliant yellow flowering tree that can grow 6-10 feet if not well maintained. It is one of the first blossoms of spring and has bright, large, star shaped flowers showing on a full stem for most of spring. Then exhibits broad, green leaves after blossoms fade providing a green foliage to last the remainder of the year. It can be used as a border, shrub, a bush or tree depending on how you trim it and want to maintain it. It is not too picky about where and what type of soil it is planted in and will grow almost any where in your landscape.

It is a striking shrub that cannot be beaten for its brilliant golden yellow flowers, which ignite the Bush in the earliest spring. The silky, showy flowers appear all over the weeping branches and dazzle for weeks. One cannot help but be drawn to the brilliant display. The flowers may even continue to bloom sporadically throughout the season. The branches themselves are long and arching, adding elegance and beauty to the landscape all year long. The ovate leaves are a vibrant dark green with delicately toothed edges. In fall, the dramatic green of the leaves transforms to yellow with a hint of orange, red, and purple. This prolific bush is fast growing and excellent for naturalizing or creating a privacy hedge.

It is also a lovely and graceful specimen plant. These vibrant plants provide a show not to be missed and are the magnificent addition to any landscape. They can be placed as a liner or a lining in a row along a driveway or fence line to help block unwanted scenes or view. They have a lot of good uses for them. The root system is complex yet shallow at the same time, but it is still able to help stop soil erosion and moved quickly if need be. The flowers are small but shine a large color on them, especially when the sun hits them. They have more branch than a flower, but overall from a distance, they look full and dense to the eye. They are stunning flowers to use outdoors or bring in to add to a vase or planter.
