Wildflower Grab Bag Includes

Chicory- Chicorium intybus. Chicory is a woody, bright blue flower that is in the same family as the dandelion, Asteraceae.

Cardinal Flower- Lobelia cardinalis. The Cardinal flower is a member of the bellflower family and can be found across the United States, Canada, and Mexico. The flowers are bright red and can be four centimeters across.

Garden Tickseed- Plains coreopsis. Garden Tickseed is very common among the Great Plains, where is called "calliopsis," and has also been cultivated in China. The flowers are yellow with maroon or brown centers. It can be found along the road or in cultivated fields.

Cornflower (Bachelor's Button)- Centaurea cyanus. This annual flowering plant once grew in cornfields and is now endangered by agricultural intensification. A native to Europe but now naturalized elsewhere; this blue flower can grow to be 90 centimeters tall.

Iceland Poppy- Papaver nudicaule. The Iceland Poppy is native to Europe, Asia, and North America, but does not grow in Iceland. They have a short lifespan and produce papery yellow flowers.

Common Sunflower- Helianthus annuus. The Sunflower is an annual forb from the genus Helianthus and is often harvested for its oil and edible seeds. The tallest sunflower ever recorded reached 30.1 ft tall.

Yarrow- Achillea millefolium. Yarrow is used as feed for livestock in New Zealand and Australia and can be found in wet or dry conditions. Yarrow is an herbaceous perennial plant.

Black-eyed Susan- Rudbeckia hirta. The Black-eyed Susan is a flowering plant native to North America. It is in the sunflower family. It is also a traditional herb in Native American medicine. Black-eyed Susans can grow to be 100 centimeters.

Butterfly milkweed- Asclepias tuberosa. This perennial plant can grow to be one meter tall, with orange clusters flowering from early summer to early autumn.

California poppy- Eschscholzia californica. California poppy is an ornamental plant with gold and red cup-shaped flowers.
